The Japanese are known for their good health and long lifespan, which is why it is no surprise that the world’s oldest lady hails from Japan. Misao Okawa is the oldest woman alive in the world. She is a mother to three children, a grandmother to four, and a great grandmother to six. Okawa turned 117 last March 5 and was in western Japan to celebrate her special day. She is currently residing in a nursing home in Osaka and is cited to be looking good as ever. She is one of the few people left who were born in the 19th century but from one look, one would not be able to determine so.

Misao Okawa is the world’s oldest lady
Okawa celebrated her birthday a day earlier and she had a visit from her family members including her great grand children. Included in her guests is her son Hiroshi who is 92 years old and time can only tell whether he will be able to live longer than his mother did. The family are all looking wonderful and healthy, not one ounce of sickness. Everyone was in a joyful mood and is all thankful for the life that Okawa still has. It is not everyday that your mother gets to celebrate her 117th birthday.
Local official Takehiro Ogura came by with a bunch of flowers and asked Okawa whether the 117 years on earth was a long time. The lady replied, “It was short.” The profound answer for that question can make one realize just how short of a time that we all have on earth and most people will probably not be able to live as long as Okawa did. For sure she has a lot of knowledge and wisdom on her head for she has been alive for decades and have experienced many things in her life. Okawa looked wonderfully enchanting during her celebration and the old age did not register on her face.
